Job Description
Optimus Technologies is seeking a Field Diesel Technician to provide first-class service to our customer's Vector System equipped vehicles. This customer-facing role involves company-paid travel to customer locations for installation, service, and support of the Vector System and SMARTFuel. Comprehensive training will be provided during onboarding.

This is an hourly position ($36.00-$40.62/hour) based in Pittsburgh, PA, with approximately 70% of work at customer sites.

Our field employees work autonomously and may liaise with other departments. Opportunities for growth are available.

Responsibilities

1. Become an expert on Vector System electronics, software, hardware, and mechanical components.
2. Complete system installations, including OEM component dislocation and relocation.
3. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, electrical diagrams, and manuals.
4. Perform system testing upon project completion.
5. Interact confidently with customers and address questions.
6. Maintain communication with customers about work progress.
7. Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, email, or in person.
8. Ensure customer needs are satisfied reliably.
9. Research and resolve technical issues using available resources.
10. Assist with Vector System component assembly.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 3 years of heavy-duty vehicle or equipment installation, diagnostic, or repair experience.
2. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems diagnostics.
3. Ability to interpret detailed schematics and documentation.
4. Experience with hand and power tools; willingness to learn new tools.
5. Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google tools.
6. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

1. ASE Diesel certification or military experience in relevant areas; or equivalent experience.
2. At least 5 years of heavy-duty vehicle or equipment experience.
3. Extensive electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
4. Basic computer skills, including MS Office or GSuite.
5. Proven ability to work independently under pressure.
6. Excellent time management and quality-focused work ethic.
7. Proficiency with diagnostic tools.
