Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment at customer sites. You will travel to job sites, service rental equipment, and support the field team with timely, professional workmanship.

The role emphasizes safety, hands-on mechanical work, and strong customer service. You will have opportunities to advance to higher service technician levels and leadership within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of engines.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork (work orders) accurately and daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
