Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. You’ll improve and challenge yourself daily and have potential to advance within the Service Department, while delivering exceptional customer service.

You’ll travel to customer sites for on-site service, maintain paperwork and assist with pickups and deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of engines.
• Superior customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
