Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited supervision. You’ll work across rental and customer equipment, with safety and professionalism guiding every task.

Excellent pay ranges from $25 to $40 per hour, depending on experience and location. Travel to customer sites, own tools, and contribute to training of junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Superior customer service and teamwork.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs and work with equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a timely manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
