Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service). You will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment at customer sites while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role involves travel to customer locations, mentoring junior techs, and accurately documenting work orders. Strong mechanical aptitude and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel).
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle in clean condition.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Additional duties as assigned.
