Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III) to maintain and repair complex diesel systems on customer-owned equipment with limited supervision.

You will travel to customer sites, document work orders, upsell and demonstrate equipment, and ensure safety. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, 3–5 years of repair experience, and ownership of essential tools are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation (work orders) daily
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer-owned equipment
• Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
