Job summary

United Rentals seeks a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned gear with minimal supervision. You’ll deliver safe, professional service and support career growth in the Service Department.

Responsibilities include servicing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, traveling to sites, training junior techs, documenting work orders, and demonstrating equipment to customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and good tool knowledge.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines; schematics/diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on equipment and tools.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of equipment to customers.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
