Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - Field Service - CES) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment with minimal supervision. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and customer service in a fast-paced field environment in Boise, ID.

You will travel to customer sites, train junior technicians, and ensure thorough documentation of work orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 5+ years repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service and teamwork with strong communication.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on equipment and tools.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians.
• Document work orders daily in a timely manner.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of equipment to customers.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as needed.
