Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned and rental equipment with minimal supervision. You’ll work safely and professionally, using your mechanical and diagnostic skills to service complex diesel systems across diverse equipment on customer sites.

Travel to customer job sites is required; you’ll train junior technicians, document work orders, and help upsell and demonstrate equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Superior customer service and teamwork/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with independent judgment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Advanced mechanical aptitude
