As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve and challenge yourself, and potentially move into leadership roles within our Service Department. All team members are expected to provide exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

1. Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment, using independent judgment.
2. Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
3. Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
4. Maintain documentation of work performed accurately and promptly.
5. Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
3. 5+ years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
4. Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of tools.
5. Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams.
6. Own tools applicable to the position.
7. Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
8. Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive under United Rentals policies.
