Job summary

Interstate Power Systems is seeking Field Power Generation Technicians/Mechanics to support multiple Nebraska and Iowa locations. The role focuses on diesel-driven generators, with field-based work, strong diagnostic and repair duties, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial power generation, diesel/gas engine know-how, and the ability to work independently while delivering quality service in varied field conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with industrial power generation sets.
• Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and ATS.
• Must have your own set of general tools.
• Ability to use diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Experience with web-based training and repair order systems.
• Physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a D.O.T. Physical.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all makers of generators.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
• Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on generators or components at customer sites with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components of the generator, engine, and switchgear.
• Maintain positive interactions with service writers, foremen, parts department, and customers.
• Keep paperwork updated and submit upon completion.
• Meet certification requirements.
• Perform administrative duties related to the role.
