Job summary

Zūm is seeking an experienced technician for field-based maintenance across a diverse fleet serving Seattle-area customers. You will handle diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance at customer sites, ensuring DOT compliance and safety standards are met.

Documentation via tablets is expected throughout the day. You will work on engines, electrical, braking, suspension, and telematics, with a focus on safe, first-time fixes and thorough PM inspections.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of fleet experience with Diesel or Heavy/Medium-duty fleets.
• Minimum of five years of Auto/Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience.
• Experience complying with local, applicable DOT requirements for Medium/Heavy Trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, clutches, transmissions, and oil/temperature/gas regulating components.
• Adjust, test, and rebuild engines in line with Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements.
• Conduct test drives during preventive maintenance to verify driver-reported concerns and after service to confirm successful repairs.
• Install, program, replace, and verify telematic devices.
