Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services Inc offers field data technician roles in the New York area. The position involves outdoor data collection for electric utility and telecommunications projects, including measuring heights, distances and angles, and documenting data with maps and photos.

You will train to perform duties and may travel overnight, returning home most weekends while supporting various fiber optic and outside plant projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred
• Knowledge of telecommunications or electrical distribution systems is a plus
• Enjoy outdoor work in all weather and perform physically demanding tasks
• Ability to read GPS maps and follow measurements accurately
• Must be able to travel and stay away from home for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Collect field data outdoors, including heights, distances, angles for fiber optic and utility projects
• Submit organized data with maps, notes and digital images
• Operate and maintain tablets, cameras and measuring tools
• Work professionally as a field representative and communicate with project management
• Travel overnight as needed and work independently with minimal supervision
