Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians for the New York area. The role involves outdoor data collection on utility and telecom facilities, with travel and overnight assignments. Training is provided, and position includes hotel expenses and per‑hour bonuses with weekly pay.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, comfort with GPS and digital data capture, and a strong safety focus. Reliable transport and ability to work in varied weather are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
• Enjoy outdoor work in all weather and perform physically demanding tasks lifting 15–20 lbs regularly.
• Basic proficiency with computers and reading GPS maps.
• Follow process specifications in a high‑quality, fast paced environment.
• Travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Present a professional appearance and attitude.
• High work standards and attention to detail with a quality orientation.

• Minimum 1 year of outdoor work-related experience.
• Minimum 1 year in a role with safety program adherence (details required).
• Minimum 6 months in a quality-controlled environment (details required).

Responsibilities

• Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data that supports engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized, detailed data for each project including maps, field notes and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment including tablet, digital camera and measuring tools.
• Work professionally in the field as a representative of Osmose and our customers.
• Communicate effectively on a daily basis with the project management team.
• Work safely and independently without supervision.
