Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Liability Reps and Damage Prevention Investigator to investigate dig-ins that damage ComEd and PECO facilities, determine fault, and support the claims group in recovering repair costs. You will intervene on jobsites, train locators and excavators, and help reduce future damages.

You may temporarily fill in for supervisors, work extended hours during storms or emergencies, and participate in local Damage Prevention Councils.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 2–4 years' experience in Underground locating, excavation, or claims/security OR 3–6 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
Extensive automobile travel and flexible work hours required.
Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Access, and e-mail.
Acceptable driving record required.
Ability to train others in underground locating and excavation techniques.

Responsibilities

Document damages and assist claims in collecting by interpreting findings.
Intervene to prevent damage and coordinate with locators/excavators to ensure compliance.
Investigate incidents, determine root cause, and testify in court as needed.
Proactively engage companies to reduce damages and coordinate training.
Participate in QA field auditing of locating work (5%).
Lead or start local Damage Prevention Councils with partners.
