Exelon is seeking a Damage Prevention Investigator to inspect dig-ins, determine fault, and guide claims recovery for damages to ComEd and PECO facilities. Role involves field investigations, training, and interagency collaboration.

The position requires 2–4 years in related areas or 3–6 years without a degree, with travel, flexible hours, and a focus on safety and compliance. A leadership role may include coordinating local councils and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field; 2–4 years in underground locating, excavation, or claims/security, or 3–6 years without degree.
• Extensive automobile travel and flexible work hours required.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Access, and e-mail.
• Acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to develop skills for underground locating and excavating training.

Responsibilities

• Document damages through investigation and assist in collection of damages.
• Intervene with excavating/locating companies to prevent damage and ensure compliance with Illinois Damage Prevention Act.
• Investigate underground damages and testify in court as needed.
• Proactively contact and train companies to reduce damages to facilities.
• Participate in field QA audits and lead local Damage Prevention Councils.
