Job summary

Exelon Corporation seeks a Damage Prevention Investigator to assess claims, stop unsafe digging practices, and train locators and excavators. You will investigate dig-ins at ComEd/PECO facilities under JULIE law, coordinate with contractors, and support claims with detailed documentation.

The role requires 2–4 years of related experience and a bachelor's degree or 3–6 years without one. Occasional extended hours for storms or emergencies may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field and 2-4 years' experience in or related to underground locating, excavation, and/or claims/security, or 3-6 years of related experience without degree.
• Extensive automobile travel and flexible work hours required.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Access, and e-mail required.

Responsibilities

• Document damages and assist claims in collection by interpreting findings.
• Intervene on the job and with excavating/locating companies to prevent damage.
• Investigate damages, testify in court proceedings on behalf of the company.
• Proactively contact and train companies to reduce damages.
• Participate in quality assurance field audits of locating work.
• Take a leadership role in local Damage Prevention Councils.
