Job summary

VSE Aviation is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Integration Engineer to bring acquired sites up to security standards, from post-closure activities through architecture buildout and handoff to steady-state operations. This field-based role requires travel to acquisitions approximately 80% of the time, including overnight and on-call coverage during go-live and hyper care periods.

The engineer leads firewall and perimeter design, identity, SIEM onboarding, and Zero Trust implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field; or 3 additional years of relevant work.
• 7 years of firsthand network security engineering in a multi-site enterprise.
• End-to-end ownership of security architecture: assess, design, build, validate and hand off.
• Deep firewall experience: deployment, rule design, VPN, and inspection policy on NGFW.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-one security onboarding for acquired site personnel and systems.
• Assess and document the acquired entity's security posture and risk for leadership.
• Lead firewall/perimeter buildout and VPN configuration at integration sites.
• Implement Zero Trust controls and Entra ID-based policies.
• Deploy EDR and integrate sites into SIEM with log onboarding and alerting.
• Coordinate with vendors on security tooling, licensing, and delivery.
