Job summary

VetsEZ seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to guide security architecture and engineering for a large federal healthcare modernization project. This remote, hands-on leadership role requires coordinating with ISSO/ISSE teams, overseeing ATO activities, and ensuring Zero Trust compliance across Census Bureau environments.

The ideal candidate has a CISSP, 10+ years in security engineering, and strong Agile/DevSecOps exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Current CISSP certification.
• 5+ years leading security-engineering teams; Agile/DevSecOps experience.
• Knowledge of ATOs, System Security Plans, Zero Trust, and federal security policies.
• Hands-on experience with application security testing, encryption, PKI, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead security architecture, engineering standards, and verification practices across enterprise environments.
• Provide technical leadership to ISSO and ISSE teams on security engineering and compliance.
• Lead risk assessments, security-control assessments and vulnerability management.
• Oversee ATO and System Security Plan activities ensuring Zero Trust and continuous monitoring compliance.
• Coordinate with development teams on static/dynamic testing and remediation.
