Job summary

State of Washington in Olympia is recruiting a Washington Conservation Corps Crew Supervisor 1 to lead a five-member WCC crew on habitat and recreation projects across Clark, Pierce, and Thurston counties. The role requires coordinating field activities, ensuring safety, and delivering quality results in a demanding outdoor setting.

The supervisor will recruit and mentor crew members, manage time, records, and maintenance, and may deploy to disaster response efforts.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience equivalent to WCC field work, young adult mentorship, or leadership.
• OR: Two-year Forest Technology Vocational Program and one (1) year of field experience as a WCC crew member or related emergency response experience.
• OR: An Associate's degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Forestry, or a closely related field, and one (1) year of field experience as a WCC crew member or related emergency response experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a crew of five WCC members in natural resource assignments.
• Recruit, interview, and select new crew members; plan and assign work tasks.
• Evaluate crew performance, provide feedback, and outline professional growth plans.
