Job summary

Goodwill Mission Services of Silicon Valley in San Jose, CA, seeks a Driver/Supervisor I to lead a daily litter abatement crew under the SJ Bridge contract. This hands-on role transports the team, coaches participants who are building work skills, and ensures safety and quality on site.

As part of the program, you will maintain logs, coordinate with City staff, perform pre/post-trip checks, and support participants’ progress toward stable employment while upholding program standards and safety

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience leading or supervising a work crew.
• Military leadership or related education may substitute for part of the experience.
• Valid California drivers license with clean record and DMV report enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the SJ Bridge work crew and ensure quality.
• Coach participants on attendance, teamwork, and safety using trauma-informed approach.
• Model professional conduct and de-escalate conflicts on site.
• Track attendance and progress; report to case management.
• Operate program van and tow trailer; safety checks before/after trips.
• Complete daily logs and contribute to weekly city reports.
