Job summary

MEI in Columbus, OH is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to operate multiple crane types and support ground crew on varied projects. The role emphasizes safety, load handling, and daily equipment checks.

Qualified candidates will have two years of crane operation experience, NCCCO/TLL or equivalent certification, CDL-B, and proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong English communication is required; travel to sites is common.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of Crane Operation experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Must possess a current NCCCO, TLL (TSS is also preferred), or equivalent crane operator certification.
  • CDL-B license required; CDL-A License preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and DOT physical/fit for duty test.
  • Must read and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of cranes: All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawlers, Industrial, Hydraulic Trucks, Conventional Trucks, and Boom Trucks.
  • Direct activities of oilers, truck drivers or helpers in assembly and disassembly of the equipment.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections along with daily and monthly equipment inspections.
  • Carry tools for running repairs and ensure safety procedures and PPE are used.
  • Read and fill out job tickets for customer acceptance and billing.
  • Drive truck to worksites and unloads truck; brief travel is expected, usually not longer than a week.
