Job summary

Prism Electric, headquartered in Garland and serving Texas and Oklahoma, is seeking a Field Craft Trainer to lead hands-on field and classroom training for electricians and apprentices in the Austin market. You will assess skills, reinforce best practices, and support onboarding while partnering with operations and safety teams.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities, with travel to jobsites across Austin.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, leadership, and teaching skills are required to train electricians and apprentices.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills to track training progress and maintain records.
• Ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Austin market and collaborate with field leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on field training and classroom instruction for electricians and apprentices.
• Conduct jobsite visits to evaluate skills, reinforce best practices, and provide coaching.
• Support onboarding and orientation of new field employees.
• Develop and maintain training materials, curriculum, and skill assessments.
• Partner with operations, safety, and project leadership to identify training needs.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Track employee training progress and maintain training documentation.
• Assist with apprenticeship development and workforce planning initiatives.
• Utilize technology platforms and reporting tools to monitor training effectiveness.
• Support development and implementation of craft training programs aligning with company goals.
• Collaborate with field leadership to identify skill gaps and provide targeted training solutions.
• Facilitate classroom and field-based learning experiences.
• Ensure training content remains current with industry standards and company procedures.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase performance and retention.
