Job summary

Corrpro Companies is seeking a Field Corrosion Technician in the Chicago area. You will perform testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems to protect infrastructure and comply with project specifications, often under direction from senior staff.

The role requires travel to customer sites, strong teamwork, and problem-solving skills. A signing bonus is offered along with competitive hourly pay, overtime, per diem, and tuition/certification support.

Qualifications

• Coursework or Associates in Corrosion Technology preferred.
• AMPP CP Tester Certification preferred.
• 1+ years of cathodic protection survey experience or education preferred.
• Strong team, internal customer service and problem-solving skills required.
• Must be able to travel overnight to customer sites weekly.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems.
• Work with senior staff on drawings and specifications.
• Conduct various test procedures to gather data for evaluation.
• Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data.
• Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings.
• Assist senior staff in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports.
• Sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent detail.
• Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables.
• Assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations.
• Provide maintenance of field test equipment, ensure good operating condition and render minor repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Coursework or Associates in Corrosion Technology preferred

• AMPP CP Tester Certification preferred

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Must be able to travel overnight to customer sites each week and, if needed, over the weekend

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with specific objectives and instruction from senior staff on customer drawings and specifications

• Conduct various specific test procedures to gather data for evaluation purposes
