Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Field Control Specialist for our Overland Park, KS office. You will work with the Field Control Services (FCS) Team on utility, institutional, industrial, boiler, and balance-of-plant systems, growing through supervised field assignments and formal training.

The right candidate has foundational instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, or controls experience and a drive to learn PLC, DCS, HMI, and related control systems while delivering accurate field

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems with willingness to develop proficiency in PLC-, DCS-, HMI-, and standalone systems.
  • Basic reading of P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to safely use common test equipment and hand tools with supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field control system services under supervision for various plant systems.
  • Assist with instrumentation installation verification, calibration, loop checks, and startup.
  • Checkout and testing of PLC, DCS, and HMI systems; collect field data and document deliverables.
  • Read and apply P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and installation details; maintain accurate records.
