Job summary

Impellam Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager for construction/renewables projects. You will oversee execution, coordinate contractors/vendors, monitor budgets and schedules, and ensure safety and quality at the site.

Office-based role with travel up to 25% to project sites; Bachelor’s in Engineering/PM/Land Surveying and 6–10 years’ experience required; PMP preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and PM tooling skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience managing project execution, including vendor and contractor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee productivity, monitor schedule compliance, ensure safety performance at project sites.
  • Assist in budget oversight, contract management, and validate execution against work scopes.
  • Participate in walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance per design requirements.
  • Review contractor payment requests and verify constructability.
  • Coordinate activities with vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders across disciplines.
  • Interface with landowners, regulators, and state agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and information flow.
  • Direct project correspondences with memos, minutes, and emails to clients.

Job description

This position assists in the overall management of assigned projects, to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. This is an office-based role that can incorporate travel on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction/renewables industry, demonstrated experience in project management, and experience interfacing with a wide variety of stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities
  • Assess productivity, monitor schedule compliance, evaluate work quality, and ensure safety performance at project sites
  • Support budget oversight, assist in contract management, and validate project execution against defined work scopes
  • Participate in walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements
  • Review contractor payment requests and verify constructability
  • Ensure proper resource allocation, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed
  • Coordinate project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and the company
  • Assist in scope control, budget oversight, resolution of technical issues, performance reporting, scheduling, and work-in-progress
  • Interface with landowners, local regulators, and state agencies
  • Reinforce expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, lessons learned, corrective action, and appropriate work behaviors
  • Coordinate activities across safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, analytics, and contract administration
  • Analyze key performance metrics, financial data, and operational trends to support strategic decision-making
  • Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
  • Evaluate potential problems and technical issues and develop solutions
  • Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and new information
  • Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed, and stored
  • Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and emails
  • Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements - education & experience

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is required. Minimum 6-10 years of experience managing project execution, including vendor and contractor coordination.

Office-based role with travel to project sites as required (up to 25%). Travel to sites to assist with initial assessments may be required (5-10%).
