Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an Intermediate Construction Professional to perform field engineering, site administration, and construction support on client projects. The role operates in the field or office depending on project needs, with supervision and a focus on safety, quality, and timely reporting.

You will coordinate with the site construction lead, oversee subcontractors, prepare daily and monthly progress reports, and ensure drawings and specifications are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nine years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree plus six years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three years of relevant experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate with the site construction lead on scheduling, daily/quality control reports, and communications with subcontractors.
• Oversee subcontractors and construction to ensure work is safe, meets quality control measures, and follows drawings.
• Ensure adherence to the project schedule and escalate delays to the Project Construction Manager.
• Write Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports for review with leadership.
• Take progress photographs of construction events and label them accordingly.
• Assist with Monthly Progress Reports.
• Ensure contractors use the latest design drawing revision for construction.
• Provide support to the Project Construction Manager as needed.
• May manage key trades or subcontractors in support of the project.
• Prepare contract extras and progress payments for client approval with the Project Manager.
• Communicate project issues clearly and professionally with management and clients.
• Maintain on-site records and files per CDM Smith requirements.
• Follow the CDM Smith Quality Policy and related instructions.
