Job summary

NY Creates in Albany, NY, is seeking a Field Construction Technician to coordinate field activities and act as the company representative with construction management and subcontractors. You will interface with Facilities Operations, Engineering, and project stakeholders to support execution and safety compliance through planning, review of design documents, and field work.

The role requires an associate degree in construction management or related field and at least five years of experience in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree required or equivalent.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Minimum five years in facilities, semiconductor, or technical construction environments.
• Ability to support large capital projects and work with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities for compliance with schedules and site standards.
• Serve as NY Creates field representative to construction management firms and subcontractors.
• Interface with Facilities Operations, Engineering and stakeholders to support execution.
• Review drawings, specs and P&IDs to understand project scope.
• Provide constructability feedback from field experience.
• Assist with permit prep, shutdown planning and coordination.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure safety procedures.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and support corrective actions.
• Manage punch lists and project closeout activities.
• Support commissioning and startup activities for capital projects.
