Job summary

McHugh Construction seeks a Field Safety Manager to implement and oversee the corporate safety program on large and small projects. You will supervise safety operations, coordinate with Risk Management, and lead hazard analyses and safety training.

The role requires driving safety culture across teams, enforcing OSHA 1926 standards, and coordinating with subcontractors. A CHST is preferred and certification within three months is required.

Qualifications

• A four-year occupational safety/health degree preferred.
• 2-6 years construction safety experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; MVR may be conducted.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local safety regulations; OSHA 1926 standards.
• Able to identify hazardous conditions and implement corrective measures.
• Strong interpersonal/communication skills; proficient with company systems.
• CHST preferred; OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR/AED required within 3 months.
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit and climb stairs or ladders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination of safety and health for all McHugh employees, subs, vendors, and owners.
• Implement project safety programs with McHugh and subcontractors.
• Plan and coordinate work to minimize risks and manage losses from injuries or property damage.
• Lead safety meetings and training to communicate policies and standards.
• Develop and review job hazard analyses for major project phases.
• Orient project employees to required safety practices.
• Conduct daily safety assessments using Procore or other systems as directed.
• Recommend corrective measures for unsafe conditions and enforce when needed.
• Investigate accidents and complete incident reports for Risk Management.
• Ensure injured employees receive treatment; follow risk management protocols.
