Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to provide daily safety oversight on a major project in Oceanport, NJ. You will lead safety efforts for contractors, review JHAs/JSAs, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and client requirements.

The role requires 3+ years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification, with strong leadership and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• Current OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certification.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Strong hazard recognition, communication, coaching, and field leadership skills.
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require.
• Reliable transportation.
• Preferred: CHST, STS‑C, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or safety/EHS degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations.
• Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks, and safety documentation.
• Coach trades and contractors on OSHA compliance and safe work practices.
• Monitor MEP, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, LOTO, fall protection, scaffolding, confined space, hot work, excavation, cranes, rigging, and material handling.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and track corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site‑specific safety programs
