Job summary

SEH, an employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to join the Construction Services team in Florida. The role centers on highway project field inspections, documentation, and coordination with clients and contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specs.

The position emphasizes strong communication, ability to travel, and independent work habits, with preference for CAD skills and higher civil engineering credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong experience in the construction field serving as a Construction Project Representative or related role.
• Must have good communication skills and be able to work independently.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions and walk/climb rough terrains at construction sites.
• Ability to travel; occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Construction Project Representative on FDOT/County/Municipal projects (preferred).
• Associate/Bachelor degrees or related Civil Engineering/Construction Management education (preferred).
• FDOT technical certifications or ability to obtain within six months (preferred).
• Previous experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support highway project field inspections and oversight with an established team.
• Inspect construction on highway and transportation projects to verify compliance with plans and specs.
• Document day-to-day field activities, material sampling and testing, and quantity measurements.
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction, progress, and conflict resolution meetings; negotiate construction changes.
• Interact with clients, contractors, and SEH personnel.
• Participate in production activities with AutoCAD or MicroStation in the office.
• Assist in development of proposals, estimating budgets and schedules, and constructability reviews.
