Job summary

ECS Group is seeking a motivated Field Technician for our Harlingen, TX operations. This (CMT) Construction Materials Testing role is primarily field-based, focusing on observations, sampling, and routine testing of soils, aggregates and concrete under supervision.

You will support project execution, gather data, document site conditions, and assist testing activities while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
No previous experience required; paid training provided.
Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work per ECS policy.
If driving for any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Must be dependable, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Basic math skills and data entry ability are needed.
Ability to read maps, follow directions and interpret plans (developing).

Responsibilities

Perform field observations, testing and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
Assist with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
Report changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
Assist with daily field reports preparation and submission.
Support basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
Help organize and maintain field equipment.
Notify supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
Participate in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
Perform other field and project support duties as assigned.
