Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Carrollton team. This role is primarily field-based, performing observations, sampling, and data collection under supervision to support project execution.

You will develop foundational technical skills, read project plans, communicate with contractors and project managers, and participate in site safety and testing activities. Training and certification opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, reading comprehension).
• Basic math skills and data entry ability.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans (developing).
• Basic proficiency with electronic devices (tablets, phones, laptops).

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
