Job summary

SOCOTEC US in Redmond, WA is seeking an on-site Material Testing Inspector. You will review drawings, coordinate with contractors and inspectors, and report findings referencing contract documents and code requirements.

No prior construction experience is required. Preference given to certifications such as ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO or WAQTC. A high school diploma, US work authorization, and a valid driver’s license are required. Comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• No previous experience in the construction industry is required.
• Preference to one or more certifications: ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Energetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workload.

Responsibilities

• Material Testing (Certifications Required)
• Review approved construction drawings and specifications
• Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
• Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
• Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
• Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
• Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing
• Review of contract documents
• Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
• The ability to obtain additional certifications to perform in-field material testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
