Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Construction Manager Intern to work on aviation and road/bridge projects on site in Indianapolis, IN. You will join a leadership team and assist with inspections, document interpretation, and reporting on active projects.

This paid internship targets Civil Engineering or construction management students with strong communication skills and a willingness to travel. Visa sponsorship is not provided, and housing/relocation are not offered.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status.
• Pursuing a Civil Engineering or construction management degree (or related field).
• Have a general interest in construction management / inspection.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of an industry leading construction management team.
• Assist construction managers with inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications.
• Gain real-world experience by working on actual projects alongside experienced inspectors and construction managers.
• Assist on a variety of projects spanning clients and disciplines.
• Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subs and clients.
• Perform tasks and solve problems alongside the construction management team.
• Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Assists with performing quality control reviews and quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise.
• Reviews and interprets construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications.
• Produce daily and weekly reports.
• Opportunity to work with current technology including, materials testing, drones, pavement profilograph, surveying, pipe inspections and pavement marking reflectomer testing.
