Job summary

Speedwell Construction seeks a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on active projects in Augusta. You will coordinate 20+ subcontractors, enforce safety protocols, and ensure work aligns with schedule, budget, and specs.

As the on-site leader, you will manage quality checks, RFIs, submittals, and field communications while maintaining daily progress reports and upholding Speedwell’s core values. This role requires strong leadership and a hands-on, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Competent in reading and interpreting construction plans and specs.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Demonstrates safety leadership and on-site risk assessment.
• Experience with on-site quality control and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the daily activities of over 20 subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to keep work on the critical path and ensure timely project completion.
• Ensure subcontractors execute and comply with their scope of work and correct deficiencies identified by the project team.
• Lead subcontractor and preconstruction meetings to align teams on schedule, scope, and jobsite expectations.
• Conduct regular quality control checks to confirm work meets design specs and company standards.
• Proactively identify field conflicts or construction issues and communicate them to the project team for resolution.
• Communicate with the project team on material submittals, RFIs, and other technical/logistical issues affecting field operations.
• Maintain accurate daily reports using company reporting software to document progress, delays, weather, manpower, and site conditions.
• Ensure the project is in compliance with local township codes, inspection requirements, and permitting conditions.
• Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site reflecting company standards.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and Speedwell Safety Standards on all subcontractors.
