Job summary

Benchmark Construction seeks an Assistant Superintendent to oversee portions of commercial projects from the field. Based in Pennsylvania, you will coordinate crews, safety, and quality control to deliver projects on schedule and to Benchmark standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction leadership experience across commercial projects.
• Experience coordinating field teams, subcontractors, schedules and daily activities.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and site drawings.
• Proven ability to lead teams, provide feedback, and maintain a productive site culture.
• OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED certified with strong safety practices.
• Skilled at planning, scheduling, logistics, and documentation.
• Proficient with field technology including Procore and MS Office.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making to keep projects moving.
• Reliable, adaptable, and ready to take ownership of challenges.

Responsibilities

• Own your scope by leading a portion of a project, ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate work among Benchmark employees and subcontractors.
• Drive productivity by planning work and monitoring manpower.
• Champion safety and enforce standards on site.
• Protect quality with regular reviews and minimal punch lists.
• Be the connector with clear communication across teams.
• Plan ahead with look-ahead schedules and logistics.
• Lead through influence and support employee development.
• Own the daily logs, progress photos, and project documentation.
• Learn and grow through turnover meetings and leadership trainings.
• Build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Step up to take the lead when needed to drive outcomes.
