Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Wichita office. The role involves inspecting operations on transportation construction sites, with travel to project locations as needed and documentation of progress from start to finish.

The position requires the ability to read plans, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with owners, landowners, and contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction-related experience preferred but not required.
• KDOT Technician Certification is a plus or willingness to obtain certification.
• Note that Wilson & Company is not sponsoring work visas.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect construction projects from start to finish.
• Document daily progress and track materials and quantities.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Report deviations from contract documents and conduct tests on soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other materials.
• Maintain clear written and oral communications and attend project meetings.
• Measure distances with accurate documentation of work completed.
