Job summary

City of Prescott is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform on-site inspections of water, wastewater, drainage, and street infrastructure for public works and private development projects. The role ensures conformance with plans, specs, and safety standards, and requires meticulous records and reporting.

The position is full-time temporary with a hiring range of $28.78 to $35.98 per hour. A valid Arizona driver's license and relevant certifications are preferred; candidates should have

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; four years of construction or inspection experience or equivalent combination.
• Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license; preferred certifications: ACI Field Technician, ATTI Field Technician, ADEQ Water Distribution Grade 1 or Wastewater Collection Grade 1; ATTSA Technician and/or NICET 2.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to read and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

• Inspects work to ensure compliance with codes, plans, and specifications; prepares inspection reports.
• Coordinates activities with other departments, contractors, and utilities; attends pre-construction meetings.
• Monitors construction sites for compliance and maintains inspection records.
• Performs administrative tasks related to the inspection program.
• Investigates complaints and documents findings; issues notices and stop-work orders when needed.
• Reads plans and specifications to ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
