Egis Group is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Providence, RI office. You will read and interpret plans, monitor contractor activity, ensure safety and adherence to specs, and perform field testing as needed.

The role requires 0–2 years of inspection experience, a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or NICET), and willingness to work nights or weekends. A vehicle and clean driving record are beneficial.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or NICET required.
• 0-2 years of construction inspection experience; RIDOT project experience preferred.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and swing shifts; hourly pay with 1.5x OT.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret contract plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Monitor daily contractor activities and ensure compliance with documents.
• Ensure highway work zones and traffic control setups meet contract requirements.
• Check lines, grades, dimensions and elevations with field instruments.
• Measure quantities for contractor payments and track resources.
• Identify plan discrepancies and propose solutions to Chief Inspector/Resident Engineer.
• Perform on-site material testing and obtain samples as required.
• Work under a licensed professional engineer with final approval authority.
