Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is hiring a Construction Inspector to join our field team. You will work closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, and Surveyors to ensure projects are built per plans and specifications on site.

The role emphasizes inspection, reporting, and coordination with contractors and municipal agencies, with a focus on accurate documentation, safety, and timely communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year in construction/engineering industry.
• Strong ability to organize, prepare, and maintain accurate inspection data and reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with contractors, agencies, and clients.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building processes.
• Public works inspection practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting and documenting construction progress including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and paving.
• Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
• Preparing construction inspection reports.
• Reviewing and verifying field staking accuracy.
• Managing scheduling of site visits, meetings, and deadlines.
• Representing AKS in communications with contractors, agencies, and clients.
• Measuring and quantifying construction work and materials with emphasis on documentation.
• Reviewing contractor billing and verifying billed quantities.
• Acting as liaison between internal managers and contractors, clients, and agencies.
