Job summary

D&B Engineers and Architects is hiring a Construction Inspector to join a collaborative team of engineers, architects, and scientists. The role requires reporting to a Long Island project site and supporting water-related projects.

The candidate should be prepared for field work, read drawings, and communicate effectively with contractors and clients. The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• NYSDOT experience preferred.
• Willingness to perform field work including climbs and confined spaces.
• Ability to read contract drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction management and inspection for water projects.
• Interface with contractors to review plans and resolve site conflicts.
• Coordinate client interactions with design engineers and other disciplines.
• Lead site meetings with Owners and Contractors.
• Verify finished work matches approved drawings and submittals.
• Coordinate permitting with local and state agencies including NYSDEC.
