Job summary

Tectonic Engineering is seeking Construction Inspectors and Engineers to join our team for upcoming projects across the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions, including Rockland, Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Ulster, Columbia, Sullivan and Delaware Counties. On-site positions with competitive pay and benefits are available.

Responsibilities include inspecting work in progress, coordinating with contractors and clients, preparing daily reports, interpreting plans, and maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or higher in Engineering; NICET Level II or Higher; or other education/training/experience will be considered.
• Relevant work experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret written specifications, plans, and construction documents for work orders and build documents.
• Ability to communicate with clients, supervisors, and inspectors regarding specs and test results.
• Detail-oriented; able to detect non-conformities during testing and complete timely reports.
• Valid, clean driver’s license and a personal vehicle for daily travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Performs construction inspection to observe work in progress on highways, bridges, street and structural work.
• Monitor contractor’s daily activities and perform field testing to ensure compliance with contracts and specs.
• Prepare daily field reports and communicate deficiencies to project managers, contractors, or clients.
• Interpret drawings and documents including work orders and build documents.
• Follow project safety protocol.
• Perform related duties to ensure successful project completion.
