Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years of experience in construction and maintenance in the area of assignment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Licenses preferred: NCDOT Concrete, QMS Roadway, Conventional Density, ABS Sampling, Borrow Pit Sampling, Level II Erosion & Sediment Control.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and project oversight for construction and maintenance projects across a broad range of areas.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors and City staff, conduct meetings, schedule inspections, and coordinate with other agencies.
• Perform pre-construction activities and meetings, assess constructability, secure rights-of-way and permits, and notify stakeholders of closures.
• Inspect sites for compliance with plans, contracts, safety, and workmanship; take samples and photos; prepare reports.
• Address citizen complaints, explain policies, determine remedies, and issue stop-work orders if needed.
• Coordinate post-construction activities, prepare as-built plans, and conduct warranty inspections.
