Job summary

Capstone Copper Pinto Valley is seeking a Construction Coordinator to support the Engineering Projects Group. You will coordinate field activities, help develop work scopes, schedules, and material plans, and ensure safe, compliant project execution on site.

The role emphasizes hands-on field work, cross-functional collaboration, and timely project delivery in a dynamic mining environment, with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years in operations and maintenance supervision, construction, construction management, project management, or a related industrial environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and quality standards.
• Ability to identify project risks, scheduling constraints, and bottlenecks.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, engineering firms, vendors, and other external partners.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor assigned engineering and construction projects to support safe, efficient, and timely execution.
• Assist in developing project work scopes, schedules, cost quotations, and project readiness plans.
• Receive, inspect, and coordinate delivery of materials to the Engineering Projects Group laydown yard and project sites.
• Monitor contractor, vendor, and internal workforce performance to ensure work complies with project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Track project progress, identify scheduling challenges, and support timely completion of assigned projects.
• Coordinate activities between Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, HSEC, Project Owners, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure project activities comply with MSHA regulations, company policies, project requirements, and applicable safety and quality standards.
• Provide regular project status updates, communicate schedule changes, identify issues, and assist with resolving project challenges.
• Assist with evaluating contractor and vendor performance and support the selection of qualified service providers.
• Identify opportunities to improve project execution, contractor performance, and construction processes.
• Maintain accurate project records, field reports, delivery documentation, and construction-related records.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental and operational objectives.
