Role & Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Construction Manager, assist with oversight of electric utility work performed for Electric Operations by Line Contractors to ensure the best interest of Customer; responsible for a number of contractor crews.
- Field check crews, help coordinate vegetation management sequencing, perform quality control, and handle paperwork and scheduling.
- Maintain familiarity with work orders, engineering sketches, permits, and easements.
- Represent the Company in working with the contractor supervisor/working foreman for the duration of the project to make sure material resource needs are met, the construction plan is followed, and project paperwork needed for invoice approval is submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist with field inspections and monitor the contractor to ensure conformity of electric distribution and/or transmission projects to Customer construction standards.
- Interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders — including customers, pedestrians, Customer Management, Safety specialists, energy control center operators, and other utility-related contacts — to resolve problems and minimize project delays.
Qualifications / Requirements
- 5 years minimum electric utility experience.
- Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel, Access, Word and MS Project.
- Basic knowledge of various electric utility assets and equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences both in writing and verbally. Ability to interact effectively with other groups within the Company organization.
- Must have extensive knowledge in construction and maintenance of utility equipment, including but not limited to transmission and distribution systems, underground networks and substations.
- Extensive knowledge of electric utility industry materials and equipment is a must.
- Able to assess the health of utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection program.
- Capable of moderate to extensive travel, with some overnight stays, to various locations within the area.
- Able to physically walk distribution lines or remote transmission rights‑of‑way.
- Experience interacting with contractors and assessing their work.
- Perform QA/QC and Program Management duties as directed by Customer.
- Availability to support emergency storm restoration efforts.
Certifications
- Background check clearance per IUSA Contractor policy.
- Valid driver’s license.
Salary Range for Role
$60,000 to 68,000

PTAG varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
