Job summary

BlockRock South LLC is seeking a Field Computer Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software for small business clients across Chicago and nearby suburbs. This hands-on role requires daily travel and strong customer service.

You will diagnose Windows/UNIX systems, configure networks, and image drives while documenting repairs and keeping records. Initial training occurs at the office, with ongoing field support and on-call duties to keep client equipment running

Qualifications

• Proven field experience in hardware/software installation and troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and basic networks.
• Ability to travel daily with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade hardware/software (desktops, laptops, ATMs, kiosks, etc.).
• Diagnose and resolve Windows/UNIX issues, networks (wired/wireless), and virtual desktop environments.
• Perform preventative maintenance and optimize equipment performance.
• Travel to client sites (90%+ field-based) to provide on-site support and user training.
• Test and deploy drive images and new technology.
• Document repairs and maintain service records.
• Be on call for urgent technical support and deliveries.
