Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a Field Compression Engineer to support its New Caney, TX field offices and travel across Texas and nearby states.

You will provide technical expertise for rotating mechanical equipment, evaluate compression systems, and work with operations to improve reliability and lifecycle costs. The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, knowledge of P&IDs and compression equipment, and willingness to travel up to 50% with occasional overnight assignments.

Qualifications

• 4-year Engineering degree from an accredited school.
• Preferred two years practical experience in design/technical analysis of high pressure natural gas compressor systems.
• Knowledge of natural gas compression equipment and mechanical design of compression equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support mechanical needs for customers.
• Aid in specification of natural gas compression equipment to optimize performance and long-term reliability.
• Establish vendor relationships for equipment in the area.
• Travel up to 50% (often overnight) to sites for mechanical support and meetings.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation drawings.
