Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Field Compression Engineer to join our Texas-based team, with flexibility for New Caney, TX or nearby offices. The role involves supporting and improving natural gas compression systems and ancillary equipment across Texas and surrounding states.

The ideal candidate holds a 4-year engineering degree, has experience with high and low-speed engines, turbines, and compressors, and can read mechanical/electrical drawings and P&IDs. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• A 4-year Engineering degree from an accredited school.
• Preferred two years practical experience in design and analysis of high pressure natural gas compressor systems.
• Proficiency in basic engineering skills and reading electrical/mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support mechanical needs for customers.
• Assist in specifying natural gas compression equipment based on operating conditions.
• Establish vendor relationships for equipment in the area.
• Travel up to 50% to contractor or Kinder Morgan sites for support and meetings.
