Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Field Compression Engineer to support mechanical needs for natural gas compression equipment at the New Caney, TX field offices with travel across Texas and neighboring states. You will work on engines, compressors, turbines, and related systems, applying engineering knowledge to improve reliability and performance.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree and experience with compressor systems, drawings, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year engineering degree and practical design/analysis experience in high-pressure natural gas compressor systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation drawings including P&IDs.
• Proficiency in basic PC operations, word-processing and spreadsheets.
• Experience with compressor station design and knowledge of gas compression equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support mechanical needs for customers.
• Assist in specifying natural gas compression equipment based on operating conditions to optimize performance and reliability.
• Establish vendor relationships for equipment in the area.
• Travel up to 50% to contractor or Kinder Morgan sites for mechanical support and meetings.
